It's some badass shit.
Over the entire course of the game it can get annoying since some bosses are overpowered/cheap, but how can you resist ramming a drill through a zombies gut and using his spinning body as a weapon to kill other zombies?
I've killed about 10,000 zombies in my playthroughs and it manages to stay fresh. Even gimmicky stuff like changing outfits proves useful.
I was able to transform Frank from a pussified photojournalist, and into a Hitman-meets-Jack Bauer- meets-Agent-Smith uberbadass.
Oh yeah.
