Football?

Preseason is underway, college football kicks off in nine days, NFL reg. season, shortly after that. Time for some prognostications.

As far as college goes, I'm seeing an Auburn/Ohio State matchup in the National Championship. Clemson wins the ACC, South Carolina finishes 8-4, maybe 9-3.

NFL is a bit tougher. Playoff teams: Patriots, Colts, Broncos, Steelers, Bengals, Chiefs, Panthers, Bears, Seahawks, Giants, Falcons, Cardinals. I think the Giants make a run (like Pittsburgh last year), but lose to the Patriots in the Super Bowl.

Oh, and Billy Volek sets every single-season passing record as my Titans finish 4-12.

I hate all of them. Saints thought they could be cool by drafting Bush. Ooo, I'm Sean Salisbury! Reggie Bush averaged 1.8 yards per carry last night. PLAYOFFS FOR THE SAINTS! Ooo, I'm Simeon Rice! You really think Clemson will win the ACC? I was figuring on FSU, but honestly I haven't been looking at any preseason predictions.

Clemson is loaded this year. If Proctor is even halfway decent, they'll be the team to beat. They got all five starting OL, James Davis, Merriweather, CJ Spiller coming in (dear god he's gonna rape), Basically everyone in the receiving corps, their entire LB corps, and half their DL back. Hopefully (for Clemson) Tremaine Billie's injury isn't all that serious, but he still is gonna miss road games in Chestnut Hill and Tallahassee. The key game for Clemson is that second game, at Boston College. If they win that, they have a good shot (I think) at winning at Florida State the next week. If they lose, they could start off 1-2.

If Clemson doesn't win the conference VT will, because they'll have the QB situation (their only weakness) figured out before they actually have to play any tough conference games.
