Outlook lolz

Can anyone explain to me how I can open my school e-mail (which I usually access online) with Outlook? I tried and it doesn't work. I created a new e-mail profile thingie with the address of the e-mail, my name, e-mail address, username, and password, and it's on the side but for whatever reason it doesn't connect. Any ideas?

if your school email is pop based then it shouldn't be a problem. If you school mail is web based then I think your out of luck, but I'm not entirely sure, since I've never really used outlook before.
