I'm sorry, even though I play FFXI all the time, if it wins the best game award for any system ever that is pathetic.

Truth.

Though, I'd also have to say 'Any FF after VI winning best game award for a system' would not only be pathetic, but in fact wrong. ;.;

Six is crap, I don't understand everyone's fascination with it. Great music? Sure. But the storyline was meh.

Characters. That's really all VI had going for it.

XI was all i could see i don't particularly like any of the titles coming out and a halo 3 rushed out in 9 months just so it can come out for the ps3 launch date will most likely suck.

I figure at the rate they are pumping out ff games 7 planned to come out in the next two years that we will be at 27 in no time.

You be makin' assumptions. It's roughly nine months until the release of the PS3... Halo 2 was -cut in half- story-wise. Relatively. That means that all of the initial development aspects are well beyond done, and the game was started along with Halo 2 (meaning that it's been in production for 2-3 years or so already) and thus it's not unreasonable to assume that they could get it out in time to compete with the PS3. Also, if the PS3 is released this spring, I don't think they have a 'killer app' going for them thus far. MGS4 is at least a year off, even.

Anyway, PDZ, Kameo, and GoW are all obvious selections if you have no faith in Bungie.

People who like good science fiction? Obviously. Additionally, cliffhangers don't make bad games. Just bitchy gamers.

Okay... so apparently having intelligent views on political and militaristic conflicts implies killing of a storyline. I don't suppose you read the books, did you? Or paid attention to ilovebees? And 'removing good gameplay elements consists of 'melee combos didn't pan out.' Did I get it all?

Apparently, if you didn't understand the game you have some serious comprehension issues.

However, the books accent the backstory and flesh out the world. Anyone with half a brain can figure out the generals and necessaries of the Covenant, the books cover nuances. Etc.

And in regards to the healthbar, they did something different, so it's worse, apparently. Must mean the healthbar was bad to begin with, as it didn't use a 100 point system like Half-Life. Not to mention it had automatically recharging shields? Well, that can't be done. But Half-Life's armor was bad anyway because it wasn't like the armor in the Doom games where you could get 200%. But Doom wasn't Hexen, or Heretic, so it must have been bad, too? Stagnation makes for bad games, not inovation.
